Sweet Popcorn: Homemade Recipe

If you're like me, you'll get hankerings for popcorn! We recently got a popcorn machine for Christmas and love it! This recipe will also work for those without machines. Just simply use a large pan (like a pasta pan). Be sure to have a lid though- the oil gets very hot and may splatter. It is important to stir your popcorn while cooking it that way as well, as to not burn it.

Sweet Popcorn
serves one to two people.


Take 1/4 cup Orville Redenbacher's kernels and put into the popcorn pan


Add 1 and 1/2 Tablespoons of Orville Redenbacher's popcorn cooking oil and close lid. Turn machine (or stove top) on.

When you hear the popcorn begin to pop, watch so the popcorn doesn't burn. After about a minute, turn kettle over and let popcorn out (most popcorn comes out, but some needs help!)

Turn off kettle heat when popcorn is done, make sure all kernels have been popped and poured out so they don't burn.

Take 1 Teaspoon to 1 Tablespoon (depending on preference) of butter and melt in microwave.
Poor over popcorn while stirring for evenness.
Take 1/8 cup of sugar (more or less depending on taste preference- can also be switched out for sugar substitute like Splenda) and pour on popcorn while stirring.
