espadrilles

SHOES: c/o BEARPAW | TOP: H&M (similar) | JEANS: c/o AOS | BELT: Sheinside

BEARPAW recently asked if I would be a Fall Ambassador for them, and I had to say YES. I adore how comfortable their shoes are, and can wear them all day. Don't take this lightly ladies, because I have finicky feet, so when I say I can wear these babies all day, it means we have found shoe gold. These BEARPAW espadrilles are a great addition to my closet this summer, with their violet color. If I were spending my summer in Maine, I imagine I would wear these by the boat houses.
There is a sale on Back-to-School Saturdays score 20% off and as always, free shipping AND exchanges!!! Go to www.bearpaw.com/backtoschool and use coupon code BTSS14 at checkout.

Lately, I have been reflecting on whether or not having a fashion blog is shallow. On one hand, I can see how it is perceived, having many pictures of myself on a website, sharing those to various media outlets. But on the other hand, it is much different to me. I enjoy expressing myself though fashion. I love to put outfits together. It is so much more than just throwing on all the clothes on my floor. It takes thought, and effort, and mixing and matching patterns and colors. Sometimes I even catch myself putting an outfit together in my head as I drift off to sleep.
Fashion may seem materialistic, but it makes me happy. Not only that, but other hobbies make me happy, too. I don't want to get caught up in this little internet world and let people think that my life revolves around clothes. In fact, most of the time you can find me 'sweat pants, hair tied, chillin' with no make-up on'. As far as fashion is concerned, I have always been comfort over cute. I just want you all to know that I value my husband, my family, my religion, my education. From time to time, I may talk about them on here. Often, I keep those a little more personal. This blog evolved into my area where I could express myself though fashion and beauty. Sometimes opinions, but mostly fashion and beauty.
A few things UNfashionable about me:
-I can listen to Sublime, Maroon 5, and Queen all day
-I once learned to play the ukulele, & never got past learning 5 songs
- I can tinker at the Piano
- I am one of the cheapest clothing shoppers (if it ain't on sale, I ain't buying)
- I hate wearing makeup. I do it, because you can't just go around with no makeup, but that feeling of having my face covered makes me slightly claustrophobic
-I can't wear stiletto heels, before or after foot surgeries
-I love watching documentaries
-I didn't solve my first sudoku until I was 22

Please, let these serve as a reminder that I am, indeed, a human, not just a 'shallow fashion blogger'.
