Seventies Vibe

"The romantic era of the ‘70s fashion was all about freedom, a variety of colors, eclectic looks and a tendency to mix and match different styles with each other. It’s the period of the simultaneous existence of several styles in the fashion industry and the decade when the subcultures of hippies, punks and bohemian chic style followers emerged. Some fashion people love this era for its liberalism and the endless creativity at times even leading to little craziness, while others criticize the seventies fashion because of the apparent absence of any style rules and standards. Still, the seventies style is much appreciated for it became a means of expressing the individuality of a person, her unique vision of style and creativity." -Fashionisers, '70s Fashion Trend: Decoding the Seventies Style

This past year as I my sense of style has evolved, I have been questioning the endless cycle of trends. Earlier last year, it dawned on me that style is in a constant circle of evolution; each style makes a comeback in a new unique way. This had always been something on my mind, but the more "ah-ha" moment that came to me, was when I realized that it isn't just one style, but an era of style that makes it's way around this fashion circle. It's been a hot debate amongst the people who I talk fashion with (aka, my mom, my husband, my besties) about what era 2015 fashion is bringing back... originally I thought it was all about the nineties, but truly, it has been the seventies all along. Chic high-wasted dresses, bold patterns, mixing styles, denim, AND the long haired man (anyone else think man-buns are HOT?!). This outfit is my complete ode to the seventies era. MAUDE supplied the cutest jumpsuit I have owned yet, and Salt Lake City provided the grungy backdrop (PS I totally had to photoshop some yucky trash out from that last photo. OOPS). Only thing missing was the psychedelics, but you all know that I am not into that;)

STYLE NOTE: MAUDE has some great customer service (holla atchu MAUDE, for being fantastic) and some killllllller cool clothing. I did size up in this jumpsuit, but I always size up in jumpsuits for a more loose fitting style. The material is clearly well made, with it's thickness and well-done cut. You need to add this baby to your collection!

    1. To each their own! They are hard to match sometimes, especially when they are denim. Because this is a jumpsuit, I found it easy! Thanks for your feedback.

  4. I SWEAR I was just talking about the "evolution and cycling back" of fashion trends after my last visit to one of my favorite stores. I am clearly not "in trend" with whats happening in that store right now, but I take comfort that this too shall pass haha
