How to Wear a Jumpsuit: Jumpsuits Aren’t Just for Bloggers

The other day I overheard a conversation, and of course I may have eavesdropped a bit.
“I just don’t think that jumpsuits are real life things. I have only seen bloggers wear them.”
ERRR. What?! Jumpsuits look good on anyone! You just need to find the correct one for you!
Here are my tips for finding the perfect jumpsuit:

1. Think about the length. Are you going for more of a romper that is mid thigh? Showing a little ankle? Do you want the jumper to hit below your ankle? This is very important! When shopping for rompers and jumpsuits, know your body well! If you are shorter, think about getting a longer romper hemmed. If you are taller (like me!) make sure to only buy the suits that fit in the length department.

2. Where are you going in the jumpsuit? There are so many different styles, you can find one to fit any event. Just hanging out? Go for a more subtle fabric like jean or cotton. Want to stand out at a party? Silk or chiffon will amp that jumpsuit up! The key to looking good is feeling comfortable. If you are too dressed up or down, you’ll never feel right! Combat that feeling by knowing your event and the fabrics that match the aesthetics of the event.

3. The waistline hits the hips at the right spot. The hardest part about shopping for one piece suits, is finding one that hits your hips at the right spot. If you have smaller hips, congrats! this problem doesn’t apply, most jumpsuits will look great on you!! If you do have hips though, a jumpsuit can really accentuate that area and sometimes even add extra pounds. It is important to recognize where the waistline of the jumper lays. If it is too high, it can really widen your hips! Have the cinched waistline hit as close to the widest area as possible! This will minimize that surface area of your hips!

I used to think that jumpsuits or playsuits were only for the tall, and as a petite I stayed well clear! Now I own 5! Three long and 2 short, and they are so super flattering. You look stunning in yours. One thing I would suggest is that is you are curvier, because of the coverage a jumpsuit can add to the legs, you can afford to go low with the neckline; or else consider interesting prints and details! Thanks so much for linking to #AllAboutYou

I am so glad you warmed up to them! It could be hard if the length in the legs are too long, but that is what rompers are for!

Love the outfit! I love jumpsuits and they are my choice for dressier occasions when I want to wear pants vs a dress. Viva la jumpsuit!

This jumper looks great one you! And where on earth were you when I was shopping for them online 3 days ago? Argh! Fingers crossed I don't have to return it to the UPS man 😉
