Getting Flawless Skin in Fall from Ulta Beauty

Cashmere Skin new makeup routine from Ulta for Fall
I may be in the minority here, but I constantly change up my makeup routine. It feels like I have to with each new season because my skin reacts differently to products based on air temperature and dryness. In the fall, I like to go for a little more coverage. I am usually back at school, or work (or both this time- I work at a school!) which means less sun time. Less sun time = more blemishes to be seen. I like to add a liquid foundation to my routine in order to get that full coverage. This time around I decided to try Smashbox Studio Skin Foundation; I had heard too many good reviews not to!

The jury is out, I LOVE IT! For someone that has major combination skin, it was perfect! It doesn't dry me out, and it doesn't make me oily after hours of wear. I prepped my skin with the Photo Finish Water Primer that goes on light and feels refreshing. I topped off the foundation with a matte finish of Ulta Beauty Minerals Powder Foundation to achieve a more cashmere skin look.

new makeup routine for Fall
Ever since Sophomore year of high school (that's about 8 years ago!) I have loved BareMinerals Warmth All Over  Face Color. It just gets me, ya know? I use a small thin brush to contour my jawline, cheekbones, nose, and forehead to get that sun kissed and defined look. Works every time. Just be warned, a little goes a LONG way!

These are two different brushes. One (the pink) is an Elf brush that I use to apply the liquid foundation, the IT Brush for ULTA Beauty is the brush I use to blend my powder foundation with. Let me tell you, buying the IT brush made a HUGE difference in my makeup routine. It creates a smooth coloring all over for a natural look.

One more thing I add to my routine in the Fall (and Winter) is a hydrating body wash. in the summer I just use a body wash gel, but in the fall I transition to washes that contain vitamins and cream. this Sweet Spice dual phase body wash contains both those necessary ingredients, and smells delicious!

If you spend $35 or more from Smashbox (that's the foundation or the primer) you get a gift of a sample of the water primer!!

  1. I love switching up my make up too! I get bored and like to experiment and play with new looks. If I buy a beauty product more than once (like the Philosophy face wash that I'm devoted to), I have to absolutely LOVE it.

It was great to see you last night! Good luck with the school year :)

  2. The Photo Finish Primer sounds like the foundation for me! I have the same "who-knows-what-kind-of-skin I'll have today" is!!! Sometimes it's as oily as ever...other times, it's drier than whole wheat toast! And, sometimes it's both at the same time...if that's even possible!!!

  3. I would love to try out some of the Ulta Beauty products! They sound like the kind of product that would suit my face!

  4. I have not tried these products or even these brands before. They look wonderful. Especially with winter coming soon, my face needs extra love in the winter.

  5. I love the colors and the products sound amazing!

  6. I was re-reading this, when I noticed the "Bare Minerals" face make-up! This was advertised on television a while ago...I think. I've always wanted to try it! I am definitely re-interested again in buying this product!!!

  7. I'd love to try Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation. The bottle design looks lovely.

  8. I've never tried those products. The primer sounds good. :)
