Poppy Wells and Bandanas

The weather is finally breaking away from the typical winter overcast. We have reached 50 degrees, people! If you are from Utah (or anywhere that gets snowy winters, for that matter), you know that when it reaches above 40 degrees, jackets come off and the short sleeves come out! It’s as if you get a thick winter skin that just cannot handle being tamed in the warmer weather.

This gorgeous striped shirt is from Poppy Wells! Honestly, while looking through the store I had a hard time narrowing down to just one item! They are all so freaking cute and fit well into my casual wardrobe. I bought this bandana a while ago from American Eagle with the great intentions of wearing it like this. The truth is, though, I get scared about moving out of my comfort zone with outfits sometimes. (Ask any one of my students, my school attire is a little more bland than my blog; I just can’t imagine wearing some of my clothing in the work place) It wasn’t until this striped button-up blouse came into my life that the bandana made sense. Of course, while I was trying new things, the cheetah booties were thrown in for some serious pattern mixing. They always say, “Life begins at the edge of your comfort zone.” Once I saw how much this outfit worked for me, that quote definitely popped into my head.

I have always thought the best and most classic way to wear a bandanna is around the neck as a scarf. This is so polished. I love that classy striped blouse and the leopard booties are gorgeous. Also, your hair looks great.
