Friends, let’s talk for a second about something: I can’t say no!
It’s becoming a problem lately because I have so many things on my plate and I can’t catch up! I feel overwhelmed by it all and like I ca’t put my full self into each project because I am always thinking about or working on another. I need your help knowing how to say no!
When someone approaches me with a task or business proposal, the two things that go through my mind are this:
1. If I say no to this opportunity, what other opportunities will it close the door on?
2. Will I hurt my friendship, or worse, lose trust from a contact or boss?
I feel like a walking zombie because I go to teach, spend my prep and lunch working on IEPs, student government, the ambassador program, or talking about co-teaching lesson plans. I come home, have to create content for my blog, do photoshoots, promote on various websites, put social media content up, make sure I am helping out others by engaging with theirs (so they’ll come back to mine), and email back companies. I then have to help plan events for a monthly blogger meet-up I host, any other seasonal events I am helping friends with, and go to social events myself in order to network.  There isn’t even time to clean our house! I feel like I work an extra day or two throughout the week, but it comes back and bites me in the butt when I crash and sleep for an entire day.
I know of a couple of the things on my list I want to prioritize, and some that I want to drop. But, dropping these will let down a lot of people and disappoint them (maybe even make them disappointed in me). How do you handle this?!
Okay, enough of the whining and asking for mercy! I found inspiration for this outfit on Pinterest while I was looking for a casual outfit to wear. I love that the boots elevate it just a bit to make it seem more pulled together than the average grunge, plaid outfit! I also wore nude lipstick in order to make the outfit look more “night out” than casual day!
If you haven’t tried LipSense, you need to! It is all the rage, and there is a reason why! The lipstick stays on for 18 hours, without smudging, without coming off, without having to be reapplied (except for the gloss to keep your lips moisturized)! I bought from Olivia, a fellow school teacher! You can buy a starter kit from her, buy different colors, or even become a distributor yourself! It costs $55 to become a distributor (the same price as a starter collection) and you get between 20%-50% off the product, depending on their popularity! A steal of a deal. Check her out at www.olivialovesherlips.com!

    This outfit is SO cute.

My problem lately has been saying yes to things! I was in your shoes not too long ago, and swung too far in the opposite direction I'm afraid :/

Oh no! Teach me your ways! I think it is easy to get that way when we feel like others won't follow through or do their part.

Girl reading that got me tired. I've learned saying no is good for me. I don't think about what opportunities I could have missed out on I think about the opportunities I'm saying yes to and how I can focus on those and make them the best I can. You have to say no or else something at some point will give. For me it's always my health and that is the last thing I want to neglect so I say no. Hope you can drop some things and prioritize others!

Please tell me how you say no! I like your thought that it means you can focus more on what is ahead of you rather than multiple tasks. Thank you for the advice!
