You're like, "what the heck is Boxing Day?" Well of course, like most holidays, it started out as a tradition and pattern of ways, and eventually turned into a consumer holiday. It's like Black Friday, only it originated across seas.
Boxing Day used to be the day when servants and help would get the day off to spend with their families, usually with Christmas boxes, gifts, and leftover food in tow. This was their bonus for working the Christmas holiday. Boxing Day is usually observed on December 26.
In the USA, the holiday varied from the Commonwealth as it is only celebrated as a shopping holiday. This means more sales! For example, Free People is offering 30% their sale items. Forever 21 is 50% plus free shipping. Daniel Wellington is 10% off. These are all items from my outfit that you can now get on sale!
Happy shopping! I hope your holidays were filled with family and love.Photography: Tay Marie Robison Photo
